KleenSpeed World KAR EV Platform Driven by UQM Motor.

PowerPhase Pro (R) 100 electric propulsion system has been selected by KleenSpeed (R) Technologies to power its World KAR platform that made its debut at the Stanford University 2012 Vehicle Concept Showcase.

The KleenSpeed World KAR Platform is a concept electric vehicle that was presented at the Stanford University 2012 Vehicle Concept Showcase event on June 12, 2012. The event highlights emerging electric vehicle transportation companies and their innovative product visions. The UQM PowerPhase Pro powered KleenSpeed World KAR platform will begin real-world testing next month.

“Our past work with UQM on the KleenSpeed EV-X11 racing program showed us that UQM propulsion systems provide the performance and efficiency in a small, lightweight package that we wanted in the World KAR,” said Tim Collins, President of KleenSpeed Technologies. “We look forward to working with UQM through the testing and development phase of this production-intent KleenSpeed vehicle.”

Delivering maximum output of 100kW, the PowerPhase Pro 100 is market-ready and produced in the UQM high-capacity manufacturing facility. It is part of the company’s line-up of production-validated, automotive-qualified PowerPhase electric propulsion systems.

KleenSpeed Technologies is a four-year-old company with a primary focus on R&D in the EV technology area. In addition to the development of the World KAR all-electric vehicle, KleenSpeed is working on many different classes of EV systems for vehicles of various size, scale and functionality.
