Prism Solar Technologies Receives its First 60 MW Holographic Film Production Line.

Prism is an early stage PV manufacturer involved in manufacturing PV modules that employ its patented advanced holographic concentrator technology. The company expects to begin manufacturing and shipping its holographic planar concentrator (HPC) film by the end of this year.

The equipment for the line will undergo testing and tuning at the company’s research and development facility in Tucson, Arizona before it is used for full scale production in New York state.

Glenn Rosenberg, Prism Solar’s Chief Technology Officer (CTO) and the inventor of the technology said, “This is a historic step forward in transforming PV module production in the entire industry and will be a key module component in the near future. Prism’s holographic optical elements (HOE) will bring down the cost of a silicon module to well under a dollar per watt while increasing the kwh’s produced annually.”

Prism will have a total capacity of 120 MW of film production by the end of 2009 and the company is already working on the design for a one gigawatt film production line.

Rick Lewandowski, CEO of Prism Solar, has been chosen to present at the "Clean Energy Investment Presentations" during the New Energy Symposium 2008 being organized by New Energy New York and the College of Nanoscale Science & Engineering, University at Albany at the Albany Nanotech Complex on Wednesday, July 9-10, 2008.

Prism Solar Technologies, Inc., of Lake Katrine, New York, will manufacture holographic planar photovoltaic modules (HPM) that incorporate its novel, proprietary holographic optical film technology to achieve remarkably low module manufacturing costs. The Holographic Planar Module technology can be used with any PV cell technology for residential, commercial, and utility applications. (6/26/08)
