April 19, 2008 – Vol.13 No.4 EDF Energies Nouvelles Set to Build 150 MW Wind Farm in California. The Shiloh II project will be comprised of 75 turbines, each with 2 MW in capacity, supplied by REpower of Germany. This new large-scale wind farm, owned by enXco, will strengthen EDF Energies Nouvelles Group’s already strong presence in California. enXco is EDF Energies Nouvelles’ US subsidiary. The project is backed by a 20-year power purchase agreement with US electricity company Pacific Gas & Electric. Construction of the facility is due to be completed in late 2008. Shiloh II represents the 15th California wind farm to be owned by enXco increasing total gross capacity to 448 MW.
EDF Energies Nouvelles has a gross installed renewable capacity of 1,443 MW worldwide as of the end of 2007, plus 1,100 MW in gross capacity under construction. Wind energy currently accounts for more than 80 percent of its installed capacity. EDF Energies Nouvelles is a 50 percent-owned subsidiary of the EDF group of Paris, France. enXco develops, builds, operates and manages state-of-the-art renewable energy projects throughout North America.
