December 1, 2007 – Vol. 12 No.36 REpower Receives 50 MW Turbine Order from Cannon Power Corporation. Cannon is the second US customer for REpower. The 25 REpower MM92 two megawatt-class wind turbines will be delivered to Cannon affiliate Cascade Wind Holdings, LLC for for Cascade’s Windy Point, Phase I wind farm in Goldendale, Washington state. On final build-out, the Windy Point project is expected to exceed 450 MW. The project is scheduled for completion in 2008. REpower’s first US customer was enXco, the US subsidiary of EDF Energies Nouvelles. REpower is supplying a total of 175 MM92 two-megawatt turbines to that company Cannon Power Corporation is a San Diego-based developer of wind power projects which has commissioned more than 1,400 wind turbines.
REpower Systems AG is one of the leading turbine producers in the German wind energy sector with a market share in excess of 10 percent. The REpower product range comprises wind turbines with an output from 1.5 megawatts up to 5 megawatts. REpower is participating in the "Beatrice Demonstrator Project" to test the performance of its 5 megawatt turbine on the open sea. Two 5Ms have been installed near the Beatrice oil field in Moray Firth, 25 kilometers off the Scottish East coast and at a water depth of over 40 meters. REpower USA is the company’s latest international subsidiary.(11/22/07)
