ISE Gasoline Hybrid Drive Systems to Power NABI Buses for LA Metro.

ISE Corporation has received an order for its ThunderVolt (TM) gasoline hybrid-electric drive systems to power six, 42-foot low-floor transit buses to be built by North American Bus Industries (NABI). The buses will be funded by the Advanced Transit Vehicle Consortium (ATVC) and operated by the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (LA Metro).

ISE Corporation, based in San Diego, is a supplier of hybrid drive systems and components for heavy-duty vehicles such as buses, trucks, trams, airport equipment, and military vehicles.

The ATVC as a joint venture between LA Metro, the City of Los Angeles, the County of Los Angeles, and the South Coast Air Quality Management District with a mission to encourage the development of advanced transit vehicle technologies, particularly in areas of transit vehicles, low emission propulsion technologies and advanced composite vehicle structures.
