LDK Solar Signs Agreement to Build TCS Manufacturing Facility in Xinyu City, PRC.

LDK Solar, a manufacturer of multicrystalline solar wafers, has signed an agreement with CDI Engineering Solutions, a division of Philadelphia-based CDI Corp. to provide Basic Engineering Services for a Trichlorosilane (TCS) plant at its Xinyu, Jiangxi, People's Republic of China headquarters.

The agreement is in line with the company's plans to complete construction and reach a production capacity of up to 6,000 metric tons of polysilicon for solar cells by the end of 2008 and 15,000 metric tons by the end of 2009.

"We now have all the major components and have engaged all the major technology and engineering services providers to design, build and construct our poly plant, it is a notable milestone for LDK as we move forward with our plans to establish in-house polysilicon production and build upon our technical and operational expertise," said Mr. Nick Sarno, Senior Vice President of manufacturing at LDK.
