--- The Alliance for Sustainable Energy, manager and operator of the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL), seeks expressions of interest and capabilities of potential subcontractors and suppliers to supply renewable natural gas to two research campuses located near Golden, Colorado.
NREL currently has conventional natural gas-fueled combustion equipment. As part of NREL's mission to promote renewable energy use and to meet federal mandates to reduce fossil fuel consumption, NREL is seeking renewable sources of natural gas derived from landfills, bio-digesters, wastewater treatment plants, thermal gasification of biomass, or some other means. The intent is for renewable methane gas to be produced at the feedstock source and transmitted to NREL using the natural gas pipeline grid. In concept, renewable gas would be similar to purchasing natural gas at the well head and transporting it to the end user.
NREL anticipates issuing a request for proposals in early 2010 to qualified sources.
Verbal replies to or questions about this sources sought notice will not be accepted.
Responses must be submitted in writing (hard copy or e-mail) and received at NREL by April 16, 2010 at 4:00 PM (MDT), addressed to:

--- The Maryland Energy Administration (MEA) has launched a new incentive program for mid-sized solar energy systems, made possible through funding from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA). The program will provide a total of up to $1.45 million to lower the cost of rooftop solar energy systems for commercial buildings. Funding is now available to Maryland businesses, and Non-Profits who intend to install qualified solar photovoltaic or solar hot water systems between now and the end of October, 2010.
Through the MEA grant program, Marylanders may qualify for up to as much as $500 per kilowatt for the first 20 kilowatts generated by a photovoltaic system, and up to 15% of the system cost for a solar hot water system; both systems have a cap of $25,000 per grant at this time.

--- The New Jersey Economic Development Authority (EDA) applications for the Edison Innovation Clean Energy Manufacturing Fund are evaluated under a first-come, first-served review process, moving away from the previously utilized solicitation in January and June. The Fund is available to support companies looking to site a Class I renewable energy or energy efficiency product manufacturing facility in New Jersey. The program is funded by the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities and administered through the EDA.
Through the program, New Jersey clean technology manufacturers can receive funding under two separate components: project assessment and design, and project construction and operation. In total, a qualified manufacturer of Class I renewable energy or energy efficiency systems, products or technologies may be eligible to receive up to $3.3 million in grants and interest-free loans. Up to $300,000 is available as a grant to assist with the manufacturing site identification and procurement, design, and permits. Up to $3 million is available as a zero-interest ten-year loan to support site improvements, equipment purchases, and facility construction and completion.
A minimum 50-percent cash match of total project costs from non-state grants, loans, or equity, is required for both program components.
