ALL ABOUT SOLAR.
This week’s news...
According to polymer technology company Plextronics of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, polymer solar cells could offer solar electricity at 10 cents per kilowatt hour - less than many in the US are paying for electricity from the grid. The company says solar electricity from conventional solar solar cells is 25 - 50 cents per kilowatt hour.
The company also says its Plexcore(TM) PV technology could be printed like a newspaper and offer a viable alternative to power from the grid along with creating jobs and opportunities, helping to secure the nation’s energy supply and, of course, offering a positive environmental impact
Dr. Troy Hammond, VP of Products, spoke to the US House of Representatives to the Subcommittee on Energy and Air Quality to encourage continuing legislation to support solar energy. The company is in the development stage of its Plexcore PV for Conductive Polymer- based Solar Cells Visit Plextronics ar http://www.plextronics.com/
