WORLD WIND WATCH.
There’s a growing list of wind projects for 2006 and beyond.
GE Energy has received an order from Brascan Power of Ontario, Canada for 66, 1.5 megawatt turbines for the 99 megawatt Prince Wind Farm to be built in the second half of 2006.
Prince, to provide power to the province of Ontario power grid, will be one of the first large-scale wind farms built in the province. The wind farm will be built near Sault Ste. Marie.
(Currently Canada has only 590 megawatts of wind capacity, but the Canadian Wind Energy Association (CanWEA) believes wind capacity could reach 7000 megawatts by 2013)

Catamount Energy of Vermont and Greenlight Energy of Virginia have agreed to codevelop two wind farms in the Western U.S.
In the agreement are the 150-megawatt Beaver Creek Wind Energy for Western Oklahoma and the 100 megawatt Antelope Creek Wind Energy in Eastern Wyoming. Visit Catamount Energy at http://www.catenergy.com/ Greenlight Energy at http://www.greenlightenergy.com/
Invenergy of Chicago has announced plans to seek approvals from the West Virginia Public Services Commission for a 200-megawatt wind project in Greenbrier County.
The project, to be known as the Beech Ridge Wind Farm, will have 133 turbines and could be completed by the end of 2006 if all permits are obtained. Visit Invenergy at http://www.invenergyllc.com/ .
Navitas Energy has been given the thumbs up by the Regional Planning Commission for Ogle County,Illinois for the Baileyville Wind Farm planned for that county. The 40 turbine facility still needs approval from the full County Board. Visit Navitas at http://www.windpower.com/
