This week’s news...
Other than news stories, press releases and products that show up on the shelves of the stores of the world, there’s no way to verify exactly what goes on inside China’s industries.
According to a press release China Energy Savings Technology Inc. says it has signed a Letter of Intent with Beijing Zhongmei Chengxin Technology Ltd to invest in that company’s thermo-photovoltaic cell technology.
The cells, China Energy claims, were developed with nanotechnologies that, like all photovoltaic cells, convert visible sunlight into electricity. But, to increase their efficiency, the cells can also convert invisible infrared light, (better known as heat) to electricity. Combined, the efficiency should be about 35 percent, a high number for a solar cell.
(China Energy Savings uses the term Ultra-red as opposed to infrared in the press release.)
The company also says the cells can absorb heat from the environment around it to generate electricity. The cost should be less than $2.00 per watt, they say.
Because only a trickle of information comes out of the world’s most populous nation, the only option is to wait and see. Visit China Energy Savings Technology at http://www.cesv-inc.com/
