AVAILABLE TECHNOLOGIES: MORE EFFICIENT ELECTRIC MOTORS.
It’s safe to say that in the industrialized world most people rely on electric motors to do large numbers of chores for them. Drill a hole in a piece of wood. Spin a DVD in a player. Blow cool air through a house.
Most of the electric motors we use are not as efficient as they could be.
More efficient motors are catching the attention of traditional motor manufacturers. WaveCrest and Emerson Motor Technologies will now be working together to further develop and manufacture WaveCrest’s energy-efficient motor designs.
Emerson has been in business making electric motors for a hundred years.
WaveCrest Laboratories builds electric motors that utilize software controls, and use advances electromagnetic, thermal and mechanical properties to make them more efficient than conventional motors. WaveCrest’s motors are being built for a variety of applications from transportation to water pumping.
The initial target market for the motors from WaveCrest and Emerson will be for electric propulsion systems in fast growing countries like Thailand where low emissions and energy efficiency are on the national agenda.
