WORLD WIND WATCH.
The wind energy business seems in a bit of a slump. Compared with a few years ago new wind farm development is at a standstill.
(The reason may be economic. With the exception of China, the world’s economies are only shuffling along. The American Wind Energy Association (AWEA) is hopeful, however. They still think 2000 megawatts of new wind capacity will be installed in the U.S. in 2005.)
While a turn-around is waiting, browse the Web and hope for the best.
Greenpeace and others have opened a new website to promote wind energy for New Zealand. Kiwis believe they live in the Saudi Arabia of wind energy. The site is Yes 2 Wind at http://www.yes2wind.co.nz and is a sister site to the original Yes 2 Wind site geared to the U.K. That site is at http://www.yes2wind.com/ .
Wind turbine manufacturers too have nifty new websites. Enercon’s is at http://www.enercon.de and Gamesa’s at http://www.gamesa.es/ .
