THE LATEST HYBRID.

Lexus announced the launch of the RX400h , the latest hybrid for the U.S. market. Here are some vital stats:

--- A combined 268 horsepower between gas (3.3 liter V-6) and three electric motor/generators (yes 3) - one 123-kilowatt motor driving the front wheels, another to start the gas engine, and a 50-kilowatt motor at the rear for additional drive torque.

--- 3500 lb-ft of torque at launch

--- 0-60 in 7.3 seconds.

--- EPA combined fuel economy 28 miles per gallon. EPA City 30. (Highway mileage not mentioned in the official press release)

--- No price yet, but be afraid, very afraid.
