FREE SOLAR SOFTWARE.

Optimizing a solar system design is key to maximizing its efficiency.

Siemens is offering free software (downloaded via the web) to help solar planners, large and small, build the best solar system they can.

Sitop Solar Select is available only for PC users, it is geared towards European solar designers, and is aimed at potential Seimens customers.However, information from it might be helpful for solar systems elsewhere using products from other companies.

The software calculates operating performance that can be expected from an individual solar unit and determines which solar modules and inverters can be used to build a highly optimized system. Siemens says the software is suitable for system design from 100 to 1000 square meters. Using the Excel database insolation figures for Germany, Italy, Austria, Switzerland, and Spain are included.
