KYOCERA NORTH AMERICAN EXPANSION.
In a move that is likely aimed at controlling costs, Kyocera has announced it will begin large scale assembly of photovoltaic modules in Tijuana, Mexico.
The plant will produce PV modules with output ranging from 35 to 190 watts and have the capacity to churn out 35 megawatts per year of solar generated electricity. Potentially all of Kyocera solar modules for the North American market will be made in Mexico.
Kyocera will also open a nearby San Diego office for engineering and marketing to support the Tijuana facility and will keep its Scottsdale, Arizona operations open to specialize in solar integration. Visit Kyocera Solar at http://www.kyocerasolar.com/ .
