BREAKING UP IS EASY TO DO.
Molecules and compounds break apart when electrons holding the collections together find new homes with other molecules or compounds. Sometimes electrons migrate and move peacefully on their own. At other times outside forces intervene and force electrons to a new domicile where they find new work holding a different collections together. New molecules and compounds are born.
Plasma, high temperature gas containing free ions and electrons, can be used to change the work load of electrons and make new compounds out of old ones nobody really wants.
That’s essentially what Startech Environmental does with its Plasma Converter System: Turn waste products into marketable commodities using by using plasma to break up molecules of waste, hazardous and otherwise.
The company has just received $140 million in contracts for Plasma Converter Systems for municipal solid waste processing facilities in Poland. In two locations Startech will be installing 300 ton per day systems that will process hazardous waste, tires and medical waste into saleable materials, surplus energy, even hydrogen.
