A report on the progress and challenges for fuel cells yet to meet is now available for download in Future Wheels II: A Survey of Expert Opinion of Transportation Fuel Cells and the Fuel Cell Infrastructure, the second in-depth report on the topic from the Northeast Advanced Vehicle Consortium. Some good news, but an honest look at the work still needed. Future Wheels II is http://www.navc.org/

There’s news again that AMTRAK is still financially on the fritz. (The U.S. may yet lose its only high-speed trains, the Acela) and news from France that TGV (Train Grande Vitesse) developer Alstom is in serious financial trouble and may have to spin off that division (But doesn’t want to.)

Want to see what the U.S. could be missing? Want to see what’s being built around the world in energy-efficient rail projects? Visit Railway Technology - The Website for the Railway Industry

And for U.S. readers, while at this site ponder why every other from of transportation in this country has heavy taxpayer support, yet some in Washington want to deprive the country of this form of transportation and its technology. http://www.railway-technology.com/ .
