INTRODUCING THE EQUINOX.
With much deserved fanfare Toyota (which is close to becoming the third largest motor vehicle manufacturer in the world, behind General Motors and Ford) will roll the second generation Prius hybrid into American showrooms in October.
More than 35 billboards in nine markets are planned, as well as spots on National Public Radio and commercial radio, nine variations of print ads including two-page spreads, ride and drives for community leaders in 15 cities and other similar events for consumers in eight major markets including Whole Foods grocery stores.
The next-gen Prius should get off to good start and sell well.
With much less fanfare (one Press Release) Electric Vehicle Technologies (EVT) (which is one of the smallest motor vehicle manufacturers in the world) has formally introduced its 2004 Equinox electric scooter. All kidding aside, the retro-style battery electric scooter seems promising especially with a price tag of $2799. The Equinox has a range of 45 miles at 30 miles per hour, thus is limited to roads with lower speed limits.
The company has other attractive products in the works such as two high-tech looking electric scooters and an off-road vehicle. Visit the new Prius at http://www.toyota.com/ and EVT at http://www.evtworld.com/ .
