WORLD WIND WATCH.
If an extension of the Production Tax Credit (PTC) for wind energy is signed into law - as expected, but not guaranteed - Caprock Wind, a division of Cielo Wind Power, will go ahead and build an up-to-80- megawatt facility near Tucumcari in Quay County, New Mexico to be known as Caprock Wind Ranch. If built the facility would be online by August 2004.
Excel Energy intends to purchase will all of the output for at least 15 years. Visit Cielo Wind Power at http://www.cielowind.com/ .
The first two grid-connected, utility scale wind turbines in the state of Ohio should be operating by the end of the year. The two 1.8 megawatt turbines, which will provide enough power for annual needs of approximately 785 homes, will be erected on county owned land near the City of Bowling Green.
