HOT PLANET.

The planet is now, on average, 0.6 Celsius warmer than it was in 1900. This the finding of a report issued at the first ever joint meeting of the European Geophysical Society (EGS), the European Union of Geosciences (EUG) and the American Geophysical Union (AGU).

Last year was the second hottest on record, with 1998 still in the lead. Record high planet temperatures have been set for the last five years.
