MORE FUEL CELLS HIT THE STREETS.
DaimlerChrysler, which has been testing a number of fuel cell technologies including hydrogen from methanol and hydrogen from sodium borohydride, has launched a fuel cell vehicle test program in Japan.
DaimlerChrysler will test one of its F-cell cars as part of the government sponsored Japan Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Demonstration Project. The F-cell car, one of 60 to be built, has a range of about 93 miles (150 kilometers) on refuelings of hydrogen compressed to about 5000 psi (350 bar). The F-cell, based on a Mercedes-Benz compact A-Class has a top speed of about 87 miles per hour (140 kilometers per hour)
DaimlerChrysler considers the F-cell to be the world’s first series-produced fuel cell passenger car.
