GREEN PUBLIC POWER.
Soon it will be easier for 40 million Americans - some 15 percent of the nation’s electricity consumers - to buy green power for their home or business from their community-owned public power utility.
Green Mountain Energy has partnered with Hometown Connections to offer green power products that can be sold through the any of the nations’s more than 2000 municipal utilities that wish to participate. For its part Green Mountain will provide 100 percent renewable power - wind, hydro, biomass, geothermal and landfill gas - to the utility’s power grid. And when needed, Green Mountain will help with sales and marketing along with the creation of a green pricing strategy for the utility. That municipal utility, in turn, would benefit from the revenue stream of that strategy.
Hometown Connections, a subsidiary of the American Public Power Association will secure national group pricing and service arrangements for member public power companies. Visit Green Mountain Energy at http://www.greenmountain.com/ and Hometown Connections at http://www.hometownconnections.com/
