SAVE ENERGY TODAY.
While we wait for government and industry to make up their minds as to what efficient vehicle technologies we will be able to purchase in the future, those with common sense and a strong will can make significant cut-backs in fuel consumption today and profit from it.
U.K. web development company Jackbox has tackled its growth needs and concern for the environment by becoming what many dot.coms (even some of those that failed) could be or should have been - Internet-based workplaces themselves.
Most of the Jackbox team, at least part of the time, work from their homes and communicate via web cams and messenger. (Most customers don’t know the team doesn’t work out of a central office.) When they do have to drive to visit a client they do so at times of the day when there is less traffic. They rarely drive at rush hour. Sitting in traffic wastes fuel. Time once wasted stopped in traffic is now productive, revenue-producing time.
With just these improvements they have halved their energy consumption, eliminated commuting, and extended business hours, all the while expanding the business and reducing operating costs. Jackbox is willing to share their energy-saving experiences with others. Visit Jackbox at http://www.jackbox.co.uk/ .
